Birds are active, colourful and attractive with lovely chirping sound. From times immemorial, petting birds were common. In early days, birds were used as a help in hunting and fishing. There are a wide variety of different species of colourful lovely birds in our world. But all species of birds are not suitable to domesticate. Only some selected species can be kept under human care.

You may be penalized if you pet such species. Do a thorough research about the market value of the birds to avoid getting cheated. It is better to avoid imported birds as the climatic change may affect them. They may be smuggled from other countries. Birds should be provided with a proper balanced diet. The diet should have a combination of fruits, nuts, vegetables and grains. The mode of excretion requires less water. These contribute to their lee consumption of water. It does not mean that they do not require water. Small bowl of water should be provided in the nest. Proper cleaning should be done periodically.
