Volunteering Your Time

Independence Dogs is a volunteer-based organization. We could not exist without the hard work and dedication of nearly 50 volunteers who show up rain or shine, 365 days a year, to help IDI help others. We need people who are willing to donate their valuable time and energy to:

  • Feed and exercise our dogs
  • Raise puppies during their first year of basic training
  • Train dogs at our school
  • Do office work
  • Take publicity photographs
  • Write articles for our newsletter
  • Help with fundraising
  • Give presentations at community events and group meetings
  • Maintain our building, kennel, and grounds

The qualifications we require are simple: We’re looking for people with a little time to spare and a lot of love to share. Do you have a few hours to give once a week or once in a while? Do you enjoy working with people? Do you love dogs? If you’d like to make a difference in the life of a person with a mobility impairment, please volunteer some of your time to Independence Dogs.
